In this course we will examine the development of sound as an artistic medium – how it is put to use within modes of compostion, installation, and performance. We will investigate the phenomena of sound and its spacial relations. Sound, music and auditory signals are played everywhere, from shopping malls to contemporary art exhibitions. But sound art is sound that is not just an accompaniment but also creates a shift in our perception, a special relationship to time and space through listening.
